EAP课程

EAP是什么?

EAP(Early Academic Program)

My study in the EAP course has helped me a lot in improving academic capability. In class, everybody is free to use English to express their opinions, which offers a perfect chance to practice my oral English. Besides developing English skills, studying academic English has made me a more organized person. In speaking and writing class, I learnt to state my opinion within a clear, logical structure. Moreover, the idea of critical thinking has also influenced me a lot. All in all, the course has been very helpful in a variety of ways.

EAP was an amazing program! Personally, I think it was the best competence fostering program I have ever been enrolled in. The program gives me a deeper insight into academic mindset. By exposing me to various conditions and topics under the academic environment, my knowledge of western culture and skills of critical thinking would definitely be improved. What's more, academic English will not be so abstract; instead the experience of learning is really exhilarating.

Reading Workshop读书会

“Writing is learned by imitation. If anyone asked me how I learned to write, I would say I learned by reading the men and women who were doing the kind of writing I wanted to do and trying to figure out how they did it.”

William Zinsser ON WRITING WELL

1. 了解世界文化、历史、哲学,深入理解文学作品;

2. 形成独立思考能力、思辨能力、反思能力,学会区别现象与本质;

3. 提升时事感知能力,辨析论证手法与修辞手法;

4. 基于泛读与精读大量积累高阶语言表达,抛光语言使用灵活度;

5. 在Academic Writing(学术写作)的基础上进行Creative Writing(创意创作)。

It brings with it all the good intentions of a quiet mind and is seen as an antidote to the chaos of modern life, infusing our daily hustle with a dose of serenity.
